ARTICLE XVI – Professional Development Fund

Key points are:

  • For each year of the contract (including this 2008-2009 academic year), the College will allocate $1200 per faculty member to departments for professional development (e.g., a three-faculty department would receive $3600 to be shared among the department members). 
     

  • Any unused funds, up to one-half of the annual amount, may be rolled over by the department for use the next year.  The unused amount may accumulate for up to three years.
     

  • Use of professional development funds must be approved by the Dean or the Dean’s designee.
     

  • The College will pay the fees required by state boards to renew licenses, registrations, or certifications that current faculty must hold as a condition of their employment.  The College will also pay for the membership costs for professional associations that faculty members must join in order for their programs to maintain accreditation.
