(5.08) addresses an opportunity for both the College and NCSFA-AAUP
to use an alternative method of bargaining rather than the
traditional bargaining approach taken during our last negotiations.
An example of such an alternative would be interest-based bargaining
where the parties collaborate on solving problems jointly rather
than negotiating in a traditional give/take approach.
In summary, Article V-Negotiations guides the college and the
NCSFA-AAUP in the approach to our 2011 negotiations.
