Article VI - Grievance/Arbitration Procedures

Key points are:

1. Each campus building that houses NCSC faculty now has a building representative. Issues needing an explanation or intervention may be presented to your building representative, the Contract Administrator, or any NCSFA officer.

2. Faculty members are entitled to have NCSFA-AAUP representation at all levels of the grievance procedures.
3. The NCSFA-AAUP President and Contract Administrator will be in the loop for any faculty issue. The building representatives will provide the communication to convey all issues to these two officers.
4. Any faculty issue is to start with, and hopefully be resolved with, the lowest level administrator (who has the authority to resolve the problem prior to the need for an actual grievance).
5. Faculty need to be sure to follow the precise timelines for the informal and formal grievance procedures. Faculty have 15 working days to resolve an issue informally, or file a formal grievance with their deans.
