ARTICLE XX - Faculty Rank
Key points are:

All full-time faculty will be ranked immediately upon hiring as
Professor, Associate Professor, Assistant Professor, Instructor, or
Lecturer.

Rank is based on the number of points awarded at the time of hire
and points accumulated during the faculty member’s tenure at the
College.

The points required for each faculty rank are listed in the table in
Section 20.01 on page 28 of the collective bargaining agreement
(CBA).

Points are awarded based upon:
-highest level of education (i.e. Associate, Bachelors, Masters,
or Doctorate);
-prior teaching experience;
-work related to teaching field;
-appropriate certifications related to teaching field;
-additional degrees or post-secondary education;
-CEUs, conferences, workshops, and seminars.

Faculty members wishing to have their rank re-evaluated should
ensure that their personnel files are up to date and must also
submit a written request for a re-evaluation to the Vice President
for Learning through their divisional Dean.

Compensation of faculty is not based upon academic rank.
