Article XXIV - Discipline & Discharge

It is everyone’s hope that the content of this article will never have to be utilized. With this said, the College has the right to discipline a faculty member for serious misconduct.

 

Such misconduct includes, but is not limited to:

 • Serious violations of important College policies such as harassment, sexual harassment and academic misconduct
 • Any behavior that presents imminent serious threat to the health, welfare and safety of College employees, students or others in the campus community or to College property
 • Serious insubordination (e.g., willful disregard of direction by supervisor except as permitted by law)
 • Unlawful possession or distribution of illicit drugs or controlled substances on campus
 • Illegally bringing or bearing firearms or other lethal weapons/devices on campus
 • Intentional falsification of College records
 • Material misuse or misappropriation of College equipment, materials, funds or other resources.

The College is to take corrective action that is positive and constructive, and any such action is to be for just cause. In addition, faculty are entitled to due process, which includes notice of allegations, a conference to address such allegations, and appeal.
